Jewish people in Britain are enduring a backlash of attacks, bomb threats and anti-semitic insults fuelled by the bloodshed in Gaza.

More than 100 hate crimes have been recorded by police and community groups this month, more than double the usual number.

Community safety groups fear the total could be the second highest ever recorded, after an explosion of violence during the 2009 Gaza war.

In several disturbing cases attackers have invoked the Holocaust and even shouted: ‘Heil Hitler’ at victims.

A rabbi was attacked by four Muslim teenagers outside a Jewish boarding school in Gateshead in one of the most serious incidents.

In Belfast, bricks were thrown at the city’s only synagogue, smashing windows on two consecutive nights.

Groups of Asian men chanted 'Heil Hitler’ as they drove through a Jewish area of Manchester, throwing missiles at passers-by.

In north London, one pro-Israel organisation received a telephone bomb threat and a Jewish boy riding a bicycle had a stone thrown at his head by a woman in a niqab.

More than 100 incidents have been reported to the Community Security Trust (CST), a charity that helps to protect Jews, since the start of this month.

The surge in attacks and threats follows a similar trend in 2009, when up to 1,400 Palestinians were killed during the Gaza war.

Violence begets violence.

The only way to end it is to settle the Palestinian question peacefully.
Every attack on Gaza just ups the anger in Israel, Gaza and around the world.

So grog is one of those who feels attacks on Jews who have nothing to do with Israel is an acceptable response to a war. It is the equivalent of attacking Muslims over 9/11.

p.s. If you want a peaceful solution, you might want to suggest that to your buddies in Hamas.

And I see you still refuse to comment on Hamas refusing to accept peace.

As you know but refuse to comment on because you can't blame Israel, the answer is for Hamas and the rest to give up on their genocidal desire to destroy Israel and actually talk about peace.

Straw man
Do you even know what that term means?

In any case direct your criticism at Hamas. Israel accepted the Egyptian truce, Hamas insisted on war. Now Hamas refuses to disarm in exchange for opening the border crossings. Then Hamas went on TV and said the only purpose for a truce was to get better weapons for a stronger attack on Israel.

Hamas are the ones who love war and hate peace.

Look at the photographs, the larger issue seems to be the unassimilated Muslim immigrant population in the U.K. and on the Continent. Yes, there are some people in the crowd who don't appear to be from South Asia, the Middle East, or North Africa but they are hugely outnumbered by those who are.

Some pics of German protests where protesters (where shouting 'Jews to the gas') seemed to show young white males with short hair and army boots marching alongside kafiyeh wearing darker skinned males. Makes for an unlikely pairing. Then again, the Palestinian leader of the 30's and 40's spent much of WWII as a guest in Berlin.
