Passed away today in Los Angeles, age 82. Cause: a prolonged battle with C.O.P. D. lung disease, and other underlying health issues.

So influential. So innovative. So talented. Wrote, sang, played guitar and piano/keyboards. One of the creators of psychedelic soul and funk sound prevalent in the late 60's and early 70's. His music sampled 1,100 times over the years. RIP to this legend.
