RIP Ron Popiel

But wait! The great Ron Popiel passed away yesterday at 86 years old. He was an icon in my early life with his late night hard-sell TV commercials extolling the virtues of the Veg-O-Matic, which, by the way, operated in a flimsy and cheap way, and was not nearly worth the $3.98 selling price plus shipping. He later came out with the Chop-O-Matic, which we did not buy after the disapproval we felt after the Veg-O-Matic. Later, this and many other Ronco (Ron's company} gadgets were sold in local department stores like Woolworth's, Kresge's and Sears.
I was surprised to discover that he was related to Ashley Tisdale.
Sorry, Ron, I don't think I will ,iss you very much.
