More sad news. I loved SCTV. I started watching it was on Channel 79 if I recall correctly. All of my friends were into SCTV and Montry Python. I remember going to school and we'd all have watched it the night before and the next day we'd all be citing various lines and dialogue from the show. Even to this day, from time to time, we do the same shit.

They just don't make entertainment like that any more and now the geniuses behind the show are starting to die off (Candy, Ramis, now Flahrety).

This getting older thing is really tough.

The year was 1973.

Although never officially credited as a producer, Joe Flaherty played an important role in bringing together the original cast at The Old Firehall. They were Dan Ackroyd, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Gilda Radner, Dave Thomas, and himself. I wish I had seen the original cast but I was too young.

To get Second City Toronto off the ground, Joe Flaherty needed some of Guy Caballero's leadership capabilities.

I just realized that Joe was the Western Union guy that hands Marty the letter from 1885 Doc Brown.
