RIP Helen Reddy and Mac Davis

Mega star singer from the 70's, Helen Reddy has passed at age 78, she suffered from Addison's disease and dementia.

Her hits included "I am Woman", "Angie Baby" and "Delta Dawn", her voice was instantly recognizable.

Singer, Mac Davis who had a hit song with "Baby, Don't Get Hooked On Me" and wrote for other stars such as Elvis Presley (Davis wrote "In The Ghetto") has also died at age 78.

I liked Mac Davis. Hard to be humble. He was good in North Dallas Forty. with Nick Nolte.
Never thought Helen Reddy could sing and I blame her in part for her role in womens' lib. But I heard a great song of hers about heart ache and romantic break up, once on the radio. years ago. Can't find it now. RIP

I thought Hellen Reddy's cover of the Mary Magdelene song from Jesus Christ Superstar was great. Apart from that, everything else was disposable.

Mac Davis telling a great Elvis story. Very insightful to how the king was manipulated by those around him. I remember coming across this a few weeks ago and thinking about Davis. So I downloaded North Dallas Forty and rewatched it. Still enjoyed it after all these years. Especially the end of the movie and the interaction between Him and Nolte.

Mac Davis co-starred with Nick Nolte in the best and most realistic football movie ever, North Dallas Forty. Who would have predicted that Nolte would outlive Davis?
