I've seen the first Rocky film so many times I've lost count. Sylvester Stallone played Rocky but Burt Young could KO him in less than a minute. He passed away at 83.

Like George C Scott and Gene Hackman before him, he was a retired Marine who took up acting to help reintegrate back into society. Along the way he became a stalwart character actor, he never got the chance to play himself until Rodney gave him that opportunity in Back to School.

Making punks see God.

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but one night when I was flippin' channels I saw a movie where he was a cab driver in NYC. He would say to Asian hookers "five dollar fucky sucky" and then laugh. Don't remember the name of the movie
I thought he was great on the Sopranos. RIP.

I loved Burt in Back to School, which is one of my ATF comedies. But of course his claim to fame is the Rocky series. RIP.

He looked old at 46 - Back to School (1986) - wow.

83. He lasted well. I thought he would go like this.

Actually his character in the Sopranos was a big motivator to make me quit smoking. True.

Thought he died years ago!

Yes, Stallone like Schwarzenegger and a lot of Hollywood "tough guys" are body builders and not fighters (Lundgren, Van Damme, Seagal, Jacky Chan ). I think there was a rumor that Stallone got a bit too confident with Roberto Duran in Rocky 2 before Duran gave him a taste and Stallone then remembered he was a body builder/actor.

David Chase wrote the Bobby Bacala Sr brilliantly, the start is downright comedic. Sr is working his puffer as he drives up to where Mustang Sally is hiding he says to himself, "fuck, stairs".

While he was still a Marine Burt Young (birth name Geraldo DeLouise) took up boxing, eventually fighting professionally.
