RIM Calls Android Market a "Chaotic Cesspool"

MONTREAL!!!
Very few things I like about Android. Widgets and easy moving of files between PC and Androis are pluses.

Found the OS too fragmented and lack the smoothness of iOS and Microsoft Windows Phone 7. Like Google rushed this out in a hurry. Also it is a hacker's dream come true. Had the Motorola RAZR Maxx for a two week test drive. Love the phone but just couldn't find myself to keep it so I return the phone back to the cell company.

RIMM screwed up big time. Just like what Palm did. Such a travesty too. The Blackberry is still an amazing phone but it just got complacent. Which in the technology world is deadly.

If RIM would say less, it would be better. The original quote implied that piracy was the "chaotic cesspool". The way they are going, BB will never have to worry about that.

all over
If RIM could bring out a hot new cutting edge phone that would be best. They can't do that now, so I guess they want to be in the news for something other than huge quarterly losses & the like. You still have hardcore fans, especially in Canada that will parrot how the BB is best & preferred by businesses & CEO's. So RIM probably figures some publicity is good.

Rim is getting out of the consumers phone market, so this news is good for their business customers and their app developers.

They backtracked (or claimed they never made) that statement, though it may end up being the case because they can no longer afford to compete.. Either way it wouldn't be good news for business customers, no one wants to tie their communications strategy with a company that might not be whole in a few years.

I think that they can afford to compete but the problem is what are they going to compete with? App developers are jumping ship, execs are being let go, new OS and new phones won't be out until end of year, etc. It's an ugly mess that customers don't want to deal with.

Businesses are allowing employees to use their personal devices now... This statement from rim is saying they're getting out of the phone market altogether...

How many people want to carry two phones? If they get out of the consumer market, they will be dead sooner.

Depends on the company you work for, most contractors or employees of highly sensitive companies might for some reason like to use RIM phones and tablets.
