If you read the articles, you'll see there are comments about Brand's sexual narcissism from his assistant and people who knew him at work, as well as the 5 women (4 anonymous) who complained about him.

The work anecdotes tend to suggest that the rape allegations aren't a "get rich quick" or "revenge" plan from women he fucked consensually and moved on from. He seems to think that he could pretty much get away with anything in his work and personal life.

Given his notoriety, I am sure that there will be a police investigation and an arrest and trial and we will see how the accusations play out.

Although unlike Andrew Taint, Russell Brand as far as I know wasn't special needs enough to self snitch and probably won't do everything he can to sabotage his lawyers by opening his mouth.
So his case might or might not be the slam dunk Taint's case is [unless the Romanian justice system is really as bad as Andrew Taint says it is.

As for Russel, back when he was just an actor, I always thought he was an odd duck. Never suspected him being rough on the women, more just a weirdo so when he started off with their bizarre opinions, that wasn't shocking.

I actually liked his persona in his earlier movie career. He self portrayed as the wasted, self-absorbed classic rock star type quite well.

When he switched to his "self help guru" and then "rightie culture warrior" types, I thought he was cynical and liked him far less. Looks like he may have been entitled and narcissistic as well.
