I was recently in Riga where I looked into and dabbled in some hobbying.
From what I had read beforehand, there was a lot of action in Riga, but foreigners were best advised to be careful due to the many scams taking advantage of them in this industry. I was under the impression that pricing was cheap, but unfortunately it was pretty much on par with the rest of Europe - for me at least.
I approached a few girls who were obviously professionals in the lobby of my hotel and they quoted me 140 LVL, or about $325. Steep. And the quality, although good, didn't justify the cost. I also had a talk with a couple of cab drivers about local action and was quoted 50 LVLs for massage and 60 for "fuck". It seemed worth a shot, so I had one of the drivers take me to a place. It was all but 5 mins from the hotel, tucked away in a dark alley. I saw the name "Afrodita's" on the door, but inside the lady gave me a business card for "Realm Star". The addy on the card is Lacplesa street.
I was quickly informed that the establishment only provides massage and any further negotiation was to happen with the ladies. Understandable, but a letdown. I was also told not to come in a cab in the future to save myself money, because they take a piece of the action. I later learned the hotels do the same, which is why the lobby prices were inflated. The sex-trade really takes advantage of the workers in this city, it seems.
I had a quick wait and was introduced to four women, of which two were average and two quite attractive. I caught a vibe from one, who was Posh Spice with longer hair and had her take me into a room. I figured having parlayed 60 LVLs, I was going to get some decent action. Unfortunately all I received was a brief body slide and was not allowed to touch back. When inquiring about further services, I was quoted 100 LVL for sex, which quickly became 100 EUR, and negotiated down to 80 EUR. At this point however, the girl's attitude had completely turned me off and so I opted for her to finish me off manually and have me on my way.
I gave another 10 LVL to the same driver that the receptionist had called to pick me up. At the end of the day I spent the equivalent of $175 for 20 minutes of sub-par massaging by a beautiful woman. I could have done worse, but I was hoping for more from Riga.
