This weekend is the 6th Annual Rotary RibFest at Lakeview Park.

This is the traditional beer and ribs event with entertainment as well, unfortunately it is not the same type of entertainment that we normally talk about on this board, but hey it is beer and ribs. That should be good for something and the proceeds go to a good cause.

I'll be there and hopefully lots of others will choose to join me.

It runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Take Simcoe south to almost the lake. Lots of parking but if you want a primo parking spot in the park property get there early, otherwise you will have a bit of a walk.

The weather looks like it will co-operate and it is going to be HOT.

I'm Going

Didn't know there were ribs being done at the CNE till after I had already eaten and missed out on the ribfest in Ham town last weekend. My brother and his wife will be here from out of town so we're all going to be there.

I have never been to a rib fest. Just curious about the cost of eating these ribs, compared to a restaurant?

I don't remember the exact pricing (it is that old age thing), but I recall it was about $8 - $10 for half a rack and $20 I think for a full rack. I am not sure how that compares to resturants, but you are not just buying the food but the atmosphere at RibFest. They also have other things like pulled pork, no that has nothing to do with Mr. Piggy and back bacon and other assorted foods in some of the concessions, but it is really about the ribs, beer and entertainment.

There tends to be a lot of kids around in the daytime and there is rides and entertainment for them as well
