So within the next five days I must give up the cancer sticks.

My American cousin will be here next Wednesday for a fishing trip. He wasn't thrilled when I smoked at his house during American Thanksgiving. I no longer have any excuse to continue this vile habit, the grieving period ended long ago. I should accord him the proper respect by not smoking around him, we've been keeping in touch for over forty years. He is also a decorated Vietnam Veteran with a plot reserved for him at Arlington National Cemetery - not he should punch out his time clock any time soon. Respect is important, hopefully I can get this done.

Prior to him selling his empty nest, he and Bruce were almost neighbours. Considering what cug went through after he returned home I suspect he indirectly wrote this eerie song for him.

The Boss is two months older than my cug, he came into the world in Long Branch NJ, my cug in Haslet NJ. The same area due south of Staten Island. Bruce got his draft papers but was never transferred to Indo-China for duty.

Respect is very important to my daily interactions, I'm attempting to go smokeless within the next 48 hrs.

But sometimes disrespect can be funny!

Do it now. Cold turkey this second. Have that last smoke and chuck the rest of the pack.

If you really want to show some respect, the sooner you quit, the less of an unbearable cranky arse you will be when he is visiting. Wait until the last minute and you will be insufferable. Do it now and you might get a chance to appear almost normal when he's here. Put up or shaddup time, Von.

(and if you do drag it out until the last minute, then for the love of Carp sneak out and grab a smoke or two during the day each day that he is here. Trust me on this.)

gotta agree. I tried to quit once while on vacation out west visiting my parents, who don't smoke. By day two my mother was buying me a pack.

LOL I tried to do it too and noone would go near me cause i was so cranky so i gave in :frown:

I hope you succeed some people say chewing gum helps also when you get the urge. Most of the people I know that were successful used the patch and weened off of it.
