Renditions of a song that make you say wtf?

Johnny made "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails his own but this cover of a Depeche Mode song made me go, WTF?
Sorry no video, but go to the iTunes store and search "There She Goes" by Bud Benderbe.
Compare it to the original Velvet Underground version (also in the iTunes store) and you will definitely say wtf! But I find it strangely a great version.

I was really looking forward to Kesha's version of the Bob Dylan song "Don't Think Twice It's Alright" until I heard it. Don't click on it if you think it's a great song, or if you like Kesha. You will definitely be wondering what were they thinking when they released this mess.
Absolutely agree 10000000%.
Both Oh Canada and The Star Spangled Banner have been mangled numerous times by "artists" trying to make the song their own.
I cringe when that happens. These anthems are not songs to be experimented with. They are "our" songs. IMHO, they both happen to be beautiful songs when played and sung as intended.
A good singer will make both of these sound amazing if they don't mess with them.
