The Sudan provides an actual example where the US appears to be on the right side of the political equation. Europe and Asia, many of the big economies of which have a huge stake in Sudan's massive oil reserve, have been noticably reticent and unwilling to act on the Darfur crisis. The US has, to its credit, put the issue on the international table - although one might note that the staunch resolve to "go it alone" seems to be absent in this case...

I'd like to see the EU take a lead here and show them they can do things on their own. The US is stuck in that quagmire that is Iraq and don't have enough troops there to ever take control.
