So, did anyone go to their local cenotaph? Maybe to the local legion and buy a vet a drink??

In a very dark place
Yes and sort of.

Went to our local cenotaph, after all the organized stuff was done. Later this aft I visited ( so to speak ) a veteran and took him a shot.

Although this issue is with me all year i find this day very disturbing and emotional and am truly relieved when it is over.

I should have and didn't. Shame. BUT, I tilted a few at home whilst watching Patton. George C. Scott an awe-inspiring actor.

The deepest gratitude and tribute today for all the brave men and women who risked lives and to those who paid the ultimate cost for our freedom!

Along side that, thoughts of the 55 million dead men women and children due the enterprise of that war. Lest we forget.

Call it a toast in their memory. Sort of a family tradition. Nov 11 i would always without fail visit one now dead uncle who landed with the gliders at arnhem. We would always have a few of his favourite brew.

To say i am grieving might be a stretch, but honouring, yes. But I understand your point, and your reasons to grieve are probably more recent, perhaps even fresh.
