Fables should be taught as fables, myths as myths, and miracles as poetic fantasies. To teach superstitions as truths is a most terrible thing. The child mind accepts and believes them, and only through great pain and perhaps tragedy can he be in after years relieved of them.

Fables and myths are a part of our cultural heritage and
should be valued. Just like we don't have to teach kids what
they see in a Disney cartoon is fake I won't worry about teaching
fables and myths unless it is done in a church.

I dunno. I read Grimm's when I was a child, and it gave me nightmares, just like some children are scarred by Christian fables about Hell and eternal damnation.

Maybe Disney's sugar coated fables are better, but I am not sure. No animals ever get eaten.
