Anyone know what they mean? It's not a sale because those tags are temporary and bright yellow.

These red tags are just like the normal price tags on the shelves except they're red. Do they mean discontinued?

I know, I should of asked but you try finding staff at a Canadian Tire...

Finding someone to help you at Canadian Tire is as rare as finding a rabbi at a KKK bbq. I complained twice about their staff to corperate HQ. Once about a midget with an attitude, and the other time about a decrepid old goat ( over 65 years old ) at the auto parts counter. A year later these skumbags are still working at CDN Tire pissing people off.

They are discontinued items
Actually, I believe they are Manager's Specials, which often includes merchandise that is discontinued so they got a real bargain. FWIW, that is what I was told by a store manager a couple of years ago.

It's mutual. They've got your photo on the wall of shame and are keeping peeps on you.
