We all forget that recordable media that is sold in Canada has a royalty tax added to the cost at the manufacturer/supplier level (i.e., wholesale) that is collected. This tax is supposedly distributed by the Feds to the artists on soome basis determined by the popularity and/or actual sales of the tune.
If the RIAA would try to search my home, they would do so illegally, because the royalties for any tune that would be recorded onto media that I buy has already had the royalty for it paid by the tax that I paid for the media.
Who is stealing now, a person recording or the recod company double-dipping?
