Hey guys I've really gotten into these two shows.
I like the Wire for it's look at the drug war in Baltimore from the perspective of the city officials and state officials, the police on the streets, the detectives, the lawyers, the businessmen, the criminals and the addicts. I enjoy that the cases are ongoing rather than solved in 60 min and forgotten.
The Shield is also a good show but takes a closer look at the dynamics within one police station and the main character is a cop that gets things done by questionable methods and where he stands and his morals are sometimes questionable or uncertain. It makes it a bit tough to get into at first because you see him as more bad then good but he is written in such a way that you can see he is more complex than that.
I enjoy the themes of complexity in the literal sense in terms of both the organizations both legal and criminal. But also in the figurative sense in terms of the moral issues that arise.
Anyways, to make a long story short as if that were possible for me just wondering if you guys have any other series to recommend.
If you haven't seen these series I recommend them I think there's a certain innate "guyness" or "dick flick" quality to these two shows that it would probably appeal to a lot of the guys. Not to say the ladies won't enjoy it because it is well written but if I were a betting person I'd say it would be more likely to appeal to guys.
