I'm not a big fan of reality shows, but this week I caught the series finally of one of the best. After 8 seasons and 200 shows, The Extreme Makeover; Home Edition show did a two hour special where they went to Joplin Missouri and and built 7 home for seven families who lost it all in last years tornado. Watching 10,000 volunteers from 8 construction disciplines work to a goal like this was a real moving experience. Mike Holmes couldn't hold a hammer to this project.
Over a 7000+ homes were destroyed, 75% of the town was damaged, totally $3 billion+, and over a 160 people died in the F5 tornado.
Most members here cannot not imagine this type of damage, although I know a couple who can. It is a shock to system clear to the bone.
The episode was a great sendoff to an amazing series. They had built over 200 homes for people who lost so much.
