As the title states. Use this as a guide to keep the poll as accurate as possible:

Skinny – thin waist 32 inches or less. I do not go to a gym more than 2 days a week.

Athletic – thin waist 34 inches or less. I go to a gym 5 days or more per week and eat healthy.

Muscular – avg waist 36 inches or less. I go to a gym 5 days or more per week but could use some toning up.

Thin – thin waist 35 inches or less. I do not go to a gym more than 2 days a week and I eat anything I want.

Big – waist size 35 inches or more. I do not go to a gym more than 2 days per week and eat anything I want.

Not sure what the point of knowing this stuff is but what the hell...
Athletic build here. 5'11, 180 lbs. 32" waist. Workout 5 days a week and try to eat healthy.

For men, women or both. ALSO interesting to see if it will receive as much acrimony as when asked what your height is: short, average, tall. For some reason THAT ONE ( a seemingly innocent question) really gets guys flared up. Touches a sore point???

None of the above, but for my age group, I'm way better than most my doctor tells me so, and so does my SO.

According to this I am athletic lol :D

I will point out that most muscular guys, as in body builders, tend to have 29-31 inch waists with massive/muscular upper bodies.

I don't think using waist measurements alone is a good way to determine or rate one's physique although it's a start... How about body fat %?

Cheers,

Don Ron :)

I asked the same question on the Vancouver board without any complaint.

BTW, the poll choices are far too narrow. I'm slim (31 pants), but wouldn't consider myself 'skinny'. Furthermore, it's entirely possible to have any of these body types independent of number of visits to the gym. (And since when is a 35 waist 'thin'? Body type is a function of height, not just waist size.)

The way I see it. Every 10 grand I make over 100 is like a day at the gym. 5'7, 170 and I go to the gym 8 days a week :)

In a living hell
None of these fit me; I'm about 20 pounds overweight, which I'm working on taking off. I have washboard abs, unfortunately they're covered by a couple inches of insulation.

While I'm not sure your poll questions actually make sense; I answered anyways - I picked "muscular" because it's probably the closest to where I'd fit, of the options presented...

5'8" - 195#. 34" Waist, 45" chest. BMI has me right on the edge between overweight and obese; which is pretty harsh... I'll admit I could drop 10, maybe 15 - but obese???!!!???

I work out 2-3 times a week; but also have a physical job...

I didn't fit any of those categories. I'm somewhere between your "thin" and "athletic" category. I exercise daily and I go to the gym regularly, but not on the schedule you posted. I do a daily routine of some push-ups, sit-ups, and basic lifts at home. I make it into a gym maybe twice a week for a mix of cardio and lifting. I "eat anything I want" most of the time, but I have parameters for my weight and waist. If my waist hits 36" or my weight goes more than 10lbs above my preferred weight then I go into calorie control mode until I'm back where I should be. It happens once or twice a year that I'm controlling for a couple of weeks. So I alternate between calorie control, and doing whatever I want, but in relatively narrow bands--I don't wait until I am 40lbs overweight before doing something about it.
