While I can't answer all your questions, I can tell you that the majority of SP's I see get themselves checked about three times a year, which seems reasonable.

SPs are the most disciplined army of condom users know to modern man. So...there's usually little reason for concern when it comes to STDs from SPs.

Simialr to the "Doc's" experience -- most I've known have a test every three months (few go longer then six months without a test).
Um ... I certainly have enjoyed many a condom-less blowjob from SPs ... and I can think of at least 4 STDs that can be spread orally. And then how many of use use dental dams when dining?

And you know this because you make it a point to ask?

Admittedly I was asking mostly about HIV but I assume you were answering generally (?) Testing every 4 months seems awful low: If for example an SP sees an average 8 clients a week that suggests direct contact with as many as 138 people in that time - and I dont want to think of the second derivitave on that number. Wouldnt bi-weekly general testing make better sense?

Can we hear from some SPs?

Bi-weekly general testing? Get real. If you're that worried, I'd suggest finding another hobby. We live in the land of socialized medicine, it takes two weeks just to get your test results, and here we also don't have a choice as to what test protocol they use. Again, if you're that worried about someone who's fucking 8 guys a week, find yourself a girlfriend and be monogamous.

Every three or four months makes sense (for the HIV). Since it takes about that long for the HIV to be detected. Let's say you were tested on March 1st for HIV and the results are negative, that dosen't mean on March 1st you didn't have it, it means that you didn't have it approx three months before the date you were tested ( Approx. January 1st).

As far as other things, I would say every couple of months sounds about right. Of course, most Sp's would run right to the clinic if something like a condom breaking were to happen.

Of course there is reason for concern when it comes to STD's from every partner, not just SP's. If you play safer, you lower the risks.

Considering the amount of reviews on this site, the number of members and few reports (if any??) of any STD epidemics among the hobbyists and SP's on THIS board, tells one that we all seem to manage the risks as best we possibly can. But nothing is fool-proof, except of course masturbation....

Everyone who participates should get themselves tested on a regular basis, yes, Sp's but hobbyists as well.
