I was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes after a person passes away before their lawyer contacts the individuals who were in the will.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks for the quick reply.calloway said:I've always assumed that the Executor had that responsibility... unless there was some type of prior legal action against the deceased.

Anything's possible... but that's usually where the problems begin.Young_City said:Is it possible for the deceased to assign more than one Executor?
LOL, great. I was told by a family member of the deceased that he had assigned four executors, all of whom are his brothers and I'm the only one in the will who is not part of the family.calloway said:Anything's possible... but that's usually where the problems begin.
AMEN! Generally several months and typically a year before probate is completed.calloway said:Hopefully the deceased had their will done by a lawyer and witnessed. Do you have any idea who the lawyer might be? It wouldn't hurt giving them a call and expressing your concerns.
To add to this point, in my relatives' cases, they own very little asset, no one contest their will & all paperwork were in order, so no probate.Aardvark154 said:AMEN! Generally several months and typically a year before probate is completed.
