I live right by Don Mills but have never been to Markham and don't know how far it is. Can anyone tell me the commute to get to that area. How accessible is it by YRT for instance? Information appreciated.
Question about Markham 404 & Highway 7 location

Don Mills is a long road, exactly where along it are you right by? Better than answering would be to use Google Maps, I did:
From Eglinton and Don Mills they say it's 49 minutes by TTC — buses every 20 minutes — to 7 & 404, which they identify as the ever popular East Beaver Creek area. If Google doesn't know about YRT, I bet that agency has a web-site that knows about which buses will take you there.

VIVA green is by Fairview and goes North(east) to Hwy 7. Transfer to another bus either the 1 (I believe) or VIVA purple Westbound to get to the outcall, I mean Hwy 404 area.
When you take VIVA you get your ticket at the automated kiosk, big blue thing, can't miss it. If you have a Presto card you can tap on at the kiosk instead. You don't show the driver your ticket/presto card, he doesn't care if you paid or not, however ticket enforcement officer do if they happen to board the bus.
As for time, I haven't a clue. Going across Hwy 7 should be fast since that part of the city has dedicated transit lanes now so traffic should be less of an issue.
