Do you think Putin will starve Ukraine / Europe out this winter? For all the harm he is doing to Russian economy the GRU/KGB might rush his bunker and haul him out and hang him.

No, I am saying some Russian strong man will succeed Putin and assume power, rule as ruthlessly as he did but appease the west. The west will know it, but better the new guy than Putin. I think the people of Russia would prefer a Gorby style leader with a " Make Russia Strong Again " attitude, even if he is a huge hypocrite out to line his own pocket. The new guy might take a lesson from Trump and promise a new perestroika.
