Already the prices of PS3 units on eBay are on the way down. Anyone know how long until Future Shop etc start getting new stock?
Doubt PS3 will go down with price soon, so if you're holding your breath....well have somebody who knows CPR nearby. However, regarding the HDTVs a lot of people don't know about this company named Westinghouse that manufactures some of the highest quality, and most affordable HDTVs in the market now. I'd like a PS3 but looking at futureshop.... after you've bought 1 game a second controller and some cables/wires...... you are now looking at closer to $1000 when everything is said and done..... a hefty investment.
I'm going to worry about the HD TV (Ideally in the 3 K or lower range given that the ones I'm looking at are currently going for 4.5 K..... hopefully in a year) first and stock up on PS2 games in the meantime.
Anyone keeping track of the units of the Wii, PS3 and 360 that have been sold so far worldwide? And perhaps some numbers from the past to put things in perspective?
In the first 8 days of the launch the Wii has sold 600,000 units. The European launch happens next week so that number is going to ballon again. Nintendo is still saying they are on track to have 4 million unit released by the end of December.frankcastle said:Anyone keeping track of the units of the Wii, PS3 and 360 that have been sold so far worldwide? The trick to ebay is starting with a low bid price and then get people to engage in a bidding war that drives the price up. For whatever reason people don't bid on prices that they consider high, but may be fair starting points.Ross Eyerie said:I was carousin thru a few PS3's on EBAY and noticed that most units going for >$1000 are just the STARTNG BIDS. With just a few minutes to go in the bidding, these sellers had NO BIDS.
Am I wrong?
January! If that's true, Sony has some seriously hurting supply problems. It is all about the Christmas sales, and Sony won't be happy about being late with production.danibbler said:Talked to someone I know at BestBuy and he said they're not getting any more in until sometime in January.
Neither, I suspect, will be legions of gaming fans!Cassini said:... Sony won't be happy about being late with production.
Watch what you say around here about big companies... lolwantoplay said:Typical of sony. This happened with PS2. What else is new. The keep demand high, supply low, so when they do hit the shelves, they are gone. I don't bother with sony for that reason alone. Sometimes I wonder if they are afraid to go head to head to head with Microsoft & Nintendo.
