So proud in fact we now run to Bush to rim his proverbial ass with the proverbial Canadian tongue so we can profit from a war we were against.

How Embarrassing!!

keeping it simple stupid (kiss)

No need to complicate things ..it is what it is, no in depth analysis necessary...but here let me try for politically astute such as you train.. As Canadians we are not going to support our neighbour when the terrorist need to see who has the upper hand, then we smugly say see see we were right no WMD'S ,but boo hoo why can't we cash in on this glorious opportunity..maybe a little ass kissing will help...oh it's gonna take a rim job...hmmmm..okay then

THE END

Well, weather it be with Bush or Blair or whomever, lets hope Martin regains some credability on the world stage , now that cretian has finished squandering it!!

and if we (CANDA) are going to ear mark 300 million tax dollars to re-build Iraq, who better than Canadian companies (and jobs), to do the work ?

Here
Although I would have phrased it differently there is a certain smug irony in seeing Canada trying to siphon some of the rebuilding dollars from a war it did not support. At best it appears somewhat hypocritical...... regardless of the common sense economics.

"WHo cares if there were or were not WMD. Canada needs the work that the rebuilding of Iraq will bring.

Did you not learn anything about Canadian construction companies and architects being among the best in the world? Do you not realize that 80 percent of our exports are gobbled up by the US?

We depend on them to keep our economy healthy and any politician that thinks otherwise is an idiot."

I am sorry but your point is??

Please don't confuse... I realize how business works and gee imagine how terrible it would be for 1 customer to buy 80% of your product..Would you sooner have 50 customers.

Our construction economy is doing just fine

All I am saying is Canada can drive as hard to the hoop as anyone!!

If we are looking for humanitarian paybacks and use wars to support our economies are the ones who accuse the US of the same thing just a wee bit full of shit. If you are gonna knock someone ..please do it at the trough

It's very important for US-Canada relations to remain good. A lot of money goes back and forth over our border, and it is in each of our country's best interest for the other to flourish. I don't see anything wrong with Canada enjoying some of the contracts in rebuilding Iraq. I am very much an American patriot, and my views on the war differ from most of the Canadians on this board. But the fact remains that Canada is our closest friend and ally, and I would much rather see a Canadian company winning contracts than the French or the Germans.

I am not saying that it dosen't make sense we should get involved in the reconstruction but please in the future please get of your high horse about the Americans already alright and join your Canadian Liberal Party's banquet for a little crow. There seems to be to set's of rules here and if you can't see that..dig the shit out of your eyes!!

Even Ed Koch a respected democrat is saying the war was just and that is only based on the bodies of Iraqi's and the level of torture that was inflicted on them. Coupled with the fact that they were a very destabilising factor to our economies.

I am just proud I didn't vote Liberal in the last federal or provincial elections cause they are idiotic tit sucking weenies.

We have pleadged $300 million for re-construction in Iraq, I don;t see how you can call being able to bid on contracts hyprocritical.

In fact, you will find that some o fthe world's best oil engineers are Canada and that a fair number of companies in Calgary and Edmonton Alberta have a knowledge in that industry that the US lacks.

Remember when the US had a sick researching in Antartica? They spent a crap load of money to hire a Canada firm that specialized in providing Air transportation in a region that is very cold. You can't do it all!

Were always eligible to get contracts on the money you had given (less than Vietnam but hey it's money) the issue is should countries that didn't support the war be able to bid for American tax dollars. I think Bush is being very sensible to push those dollars back into the US economy to the largest extent possible.

If Canada needs cruel dictators like Saddam to exist so the U.S can destroy their country so that we can profit from it then we are in worse trouble than we realize.

And yes it does matter that there were no wmd's .
If that was not the real reason the let Bush tell us what was.
If the leader of the free world can't tell the truth who can we trust.

If I was an american with a son at war i would like to know the real reason he died.

I agree if the US is paying for this- but I thought this was going to be paid through oil revenues either now or as a first charge on future oil revenues
I think this is the 20b of US funds that are being pumped into the country. International funds and Iraqi funds (very few at this point) are open for everyone to bid on.

Canada wasn't a major pain in the US's but over the whole Iraq thing and thats why they're getting contracts. France and Germany played major oppositinal roles, unlike Canada. France even had the gall to verbally attack the Polish Government for aiding the US military effort.
Poor France, tried to reclaim its power in Europe and ended up showing how irrelevent they really are....

You don't need brains to understand politics , in fact politicians insult people with brains.

All you need to understand is that politicians are out to take care of themselves first. Oh second thing they lie a lot.
