How I learned
When I was a kid, all the older females in my family were addicted to Dynasty. I had not yet learned about the birds and the bees. With nothing better to do, I watched Dynasty along with them.
There was some plotline about Crystal getting pregnant and some other talk of a "pill." So I proudly exclaimed to my family, "I know how Crystal got pregnant. She took a pill!"
I was then given my sister's biology textbook, and told to read the pertinent sections. Only many years later did I get to practice what I read.

When I was a pre teen I snuck into my camp counsellors stash of dirty magazines and found an issue of Mayfair. It was the book of choice in the day because the legal age for modelling in Europe was sixteen and these counsellors were usually between 16 and 20 years old.
Well he caught me with it and didn't get mad. Instead he quizzed me to see if I knew what I as looking at. I answered correctly so he let me continue "reading".
