This guy apparently engaged in gay-for-pay porn and some straight films. He makes a good point about the myth of testing in the adult film industry, which in some ways, can be applied to the hobbying industry as well. I think there is much more that is passed in our hobby than is revealed and I believe alot of people are under a false sense of security that they don't have anything or are safe.

I find it impossible that each one of us doesn't have herpes, considering about 50+% of the people in society have it and we engage in activities with people who have 1000's of experiences with different people. The math is against us in this regard. I also think there are many other infections that each one of us have had but weren't aware of it at the time.

Right in the first paragraph the actor is quoted as calling for mandatory condom use in porn productions. That is to the best of my knowledge our rule already for the riskier of behaviours.

I agree, condom use is wise, but most of the warm-up activities that go on in hobbying is BB. The main event is covered, but that doesn't stop anything you get until then.

Still the odds are by and large with you.

_______________

Back to the article, from some of his comments the actor strikes me as a rather naïve 24 year old.

Nobody wants to watch porn where a guy is wearing a rubber.

I thought I read on this board that European porn is all condom FS, unlike North America. I think porn across the pond is just as good if not better than here. Can anyone confirm this?

Take it from somebody who owns over 1500 porn dvds and has thousands of gigs of porn downloaded to harddrives, that what you read it completely false.

I've been hobbying for two decades and have never caught anything worse than a cold (on two occassions) from an SP. I guess I'm lucky.

I wonder if IV drug use was considered as a possible source of transmission.

More like how old are you, who buys porn anymore? It's all free!
I bought them all before the free porn boom. I haven't bought a porn dvd since 2003. Since then I only download free shit and have 1000s of gigs of the stuff.

But porn wasn't cutting it anymore. I had to make a decision to rape women or hobby. I chose the latter.

The callouses and hair on my palms are a grizzly sight.

Condoms only offer limited protection. They're pretty good at protecting against bacteria because bacteria (syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia) needs to get inside your urethra (or mouth for that matter) in order to take root.

Condoms only offer very limited protection against viruses such as Herpes, and HPV since they only cover about half of the cock (condoms tend to pull up) and also, they never cover the base of the penis. (And that is exactly where you can and will catch Herpes and HPV.) Don't think for a second that using a condom eliminates risk. It doesn't. Condoms only reduce the risk of bacterial infections and do almost nothing against Herpes and HPV. The only sure fire means of not running the risk of catching an STD is to remain monogamous with a monogamous partner. (Oh wait, we're on TERB.)

Better off just forgoing the whole sex thing then.

Me, I'm more worried about my 1 in 2 chance of developing cancer.

What a strange, sad, pathetic statement.

One Hour of hi res porn consumes about 720MB of drive space.
10 Hours = 7.2 Gig
140 hours = 1,000 Gig
And you have thousands of gigs?
Plus your DVD collection?
My download collection is approaching 10Gig. And it's more porn than I will watch in a year.
