ok, so i havent had a vacation since the 80s [when the world was normal]

I'm looking for suggestions, being utterly Libran... I have difficulty making up my mind.

thoughts? comments? what would be good for an overly stressed ubergeek with a 2 track mind?

thanks

Some of your choices are really funny but I pick Vegas...it's one of my most favourite places! I'm counting down the days til I head back down in April :)

grins, thankyou.

Vegas also has the serious potential of being a business trip for me... I dont want to mix business and pleasure. but spending time with Sunset Thomas, or maybe... Cherry Mirage or maybe both definately is very appealing albeit somewhat pricey.

Montreal is gorgeous tho and much closer.

I'm all ears. [and big goofy grins and things]

only one choice

Go after Bin Laden. If you get him you could afford to do all the rest as many times as you wanted too and still be a rich man.

GTA
Montreal...

CG, Montreal is great place to kick back and soak it all in. Great scene for SP's and the Goth scene is up there as well. Nightclubs, restaurants, Casino and old Montreal to name a few activites to add to the mix. A small town just north of Montreal, Saint Sauve (hope I spelled it right) is a fantasic place to to shop, eat and people watch. You'd have a blast! I always had...

CG,

Go to Australia, lovely Shelia’s, great weather (it's summer now) and the dollar is even cheaper than the CD!

Unless you're able to go without sleep I wouldn't recommend a trip to Amsterdam. If you do go, don't stay longer than a weekend. Mind you if you're into the art and music scene you'll find a treasure trove of riches. The Jazz scene is unbelievable and attending a concert at the acoustically perfect Concertgebouw is a lifetime experience......on the flipside, Gwar was the house band at The Paradiso.

For what it's worth, Amsterdam is one wild place. I was there once for a week and hardly slept. No hobbying (didn't need to!) so can't help there but you would find anything you need in the red light district.
Dutch girls are cool!

Vacation ideas

Alot depends on what you want to accomplish on your vacation.

Rest and relaxation. Adventure and activites. Sightseeing and shopping. Educational or spiritual retreat. Womanizing and hobbying. Seriously, first be honest with yourself about what you want out of your trip.

THEN, start looking for destinations that match your agenda. The best vacation I ever took was a 7-day cruise... I went by myself too... no phone, no pagers, no cell, no computer, no e-mail, no TV, no communication. You are forced to enjoy your vacation with no distractions.

I came home with alcohol poisoning, a respiratory infection, and an empty box of condoms. :D

CyberGoth - maybe a trip to Napanee - you can visit the Home Hardware there and the birth place of Avril Lavigne - sorry just joking - try an all inclusive resort in Dominican Republic. Stay near
Caberette - the wind surfing capital of the caribean. It is also home to the "most aggresive prostitutes in the caribean"

I recommend a visit to Hedonism in Negril (Jamaica). Everyone should go at least once in their lives! :)

Yes, except he will have a life expectency of about 2 weeks as every crazy Bin Laden supporter will be after him. Did I mention that it will be an incredible 2 weeks? Mm...$28 Mil/week expense account.

Toss up

Ok CG you got me torn between 2 choices. One I have experiance with the other just 2nd hand knowledge.

Amsterdam... my Co.s Headquaters is based there, and many of my fellow co-workers have been there and have sold me on how this place besides being a wonderful city, is a hobbiest dream.

....on the other hand. I spent my week of vacation with Alexa last year and have to admit it was the best vacation I ever had.

Your looking at even money on cost so i think either way, your going to have a good vaca..

Good luck my friend

CG - knowing you're preference for shiny stuff and piercings I voted amsterdam. While there be sure to check out absolute danny - a store very similar to Northbound. http://www.absolutedanny.com . When in Amsterdam wear a Canadian flag pin - In holland they love Canadians. There are lots of good places to stay - when I went I stayed at hotel Novotel - It is a good way from the district but the tram is only a block or 2 away and that will take you right there. Tram only costs about 3 or 5 bucks per trip. It was a bit pricy from what I remember but the was a convention there at the same time. Oh and a coffee house isn't necessarily as such - wink . It was one of the most memorable places I have been. The district a bit over a year ago it was 50 dollars for a BJ and 100 for full service (guilders which is close to our dollar - a guilder when I went cost about 90 cents canadian) Full service in the district is a little more rushed than we are used to in TO - but for a hundred bucks who's complaining. I'm sure if you want more time they will negotiate a fair deal. It is quite the site to see - all types of women - big small - gorgeous and .. well not so gorgeous. standing in there window / patio door (gives whole new meaning to the term "window shopping"). If you go you will get familiar with the knock on glass sound - alot try to gain your attention this way. Contrary to what many believe the District is extremely safe. Law enforcement is present but not noticeable. Go for it you'll have a blast!!

One further note - if you do some research and time your trip properly you should be able to catch one of the famous fetish parties while you are there - I missed it by a week :(

I concur. The P.J. party at the disco is something you'll never forget.... you can even purchase videos of the events during your stay from the staff as a momento.

Vacation report Vol. 1 [Toronto]

spent a weekend with a lovely friendly female. [started friday nite, ended sunday afternoon in the not too distant past.]

had a wonderful time with my lovely friend and a friend of hers and/or my GF at various times. wow, I had no idea I could spend that much on condoms and viagra. hehehe.

Intensity was craved and recieved. found that by the end, I didnt need viagra because of overall reductions in STRESSSSSSSS.

this is a good thing.

next stop: MONTREAL!!!!

Montreal, can't go wrong, unless they greet you with a Quebec snow storm.

If Bush is not going to bomb Iraq, I would have voted for Vegas. Great place. But once the war starts, things might get a bit .. sticky, south of the boarder, know watiamsayin ...?
