I am not so sure about that. The Republicans are not behind McCain. With him we get a liberal. I can see as a protest vote enough Republicans not voting for him. That should tip the scales. Besides that historically after a 2 term President the opposition party wins the next cycle.danmand said:I doubt it. In the clinch, the americans will elect an old white military type

I have participated in three US elections..twice I have voted Republican once I have voted Green (I lived in TX and Bush was carrying the state anyway)....This time around I will not support the Repbulicans...I stay home or I vote Libertarian.papasmerf said:I am not so sure about that. no matter what, get out and vote. that is the best way to protect this freedom.frasier said:I have participated in three US elections..twice I have voted Republican once I have voted Green (I lived in TX and Bush was carrying the state anyway)....This time around I will not support the Repbulicans...I stay home or I vote Libertarian.

Not at all.onthebottom said:You could fill a football stadium with wrong reads by danmand.
I think Obama has the best chance to beat McCain but I think it will get harder instead of easier between now and November.
OTB
Based on your logic the Clintons are WASPS...the amount of smear they have piled on OBAMA is disgusting.WoodPeckr said:Not at all.
In fact it will be a cakewalk for either Obama or Hillary.
Face it bot the ONLY GOPer capable of beating Obama or Hillary is Colin Powell.
However the 'good ole boys' and Wasps of the GOP will make sure Colin stays, shall we say, ..... in the back of their bus.....
I wish TOV would make some of his prediction that way I would know how not to bet..remember Kerry by 10?onthebottom said:You could fill a football stadium with wrong reads by danmand.

Ah yes, the Howard Dean all republicans look the same logic, that had to be one of the ten dumbest things he's said, and that's a hard list to get on.WoodPeckr said:Not at all.

From your lips to God's ear, my son; but I think you may underestimate how badly eroded the American fibre has become after 25-plus years of reaganite lies, propaganda, distortion, and madness. A quarter of the population *still* supports shrubble-yoo, the hands-down winner of every negative superlative for US presidents.WoodPeckr said:Not at all.

Your idea of a joke, right?frasier said:I have participated in three US elections..twice I have voted Republican once I have voted Green...
But sadly when the GOP upcoming 'fear mongering' commences they will be snapped into line backing McCain.DonQuixote said:Frasier is correct. The GOP faithful are

That was bbking..... and yes, all too often.frasier said:I wish TOV would make some of his prediction that way I would know how not to bet..remember Kerry by 10?
I think either D candidate will energize the R voters (Hillary because she's a hated bitch, Obama because he's a real liberal) - that won't be the issue, the issue will be who wins the middle.DonQuixote said:I'm still in McCain's corner.
But, Obama will dominate in any debate.
Will he get the votes? The Dems are out
voting the GOP in the primaries by a
2/3rds to 1/3rd plurality.
