Don Cherry would ever accuse me of being a bleeding heart liberal pinko. But something just reeks about the attack ads that have resurfaced. They seem so unCanadian to me, and I'd like to think we are a little above this kind of bully mentality politicking. Oh but wait, you have to have an impending election to campaign don't you? And Harper claims he will not call an election in this coming year. Then why the attack ads? Paranoia?

I find those types of ads infuriating and insulting. I see Canadian politics going more and more the way of American's -- just divide and conquer at all costs, regardless of the actual 'issues' at play. Apparently though political attack ads actually work, according to pollsters and consultants.
