I'm not sure if this has been posted before; but PM doesn't seem to work. If I try to reply to a message or create a new one, I get sent to an error page; something to do with spellcheck.js

Anybody else having these problems?

Thanks

I am having this same problem. I have received and viewed two new messages but cannot reply or compose a new PM. Is there a response from Fred somewhere I should be reading ? I have the same error message.

kiarra, got your PM, but can't reply

kiarra

I did get your test PM; thanks, but I can't reply. After I press the reply button; I get a blank grey screen with only the following text:

"The requested URL /vbulletin/spellcheck/spch.js was not found on this server."

Maybe it's a problem with my web browser; I'm using Netscape 4.79. I'm afraid to use Explorer since I don't know how to completely erase the cache files. I'm just being paranoid; since I don't want to leave traces on my computer that I visit this site :)

Any suggestions? anybody?

Try using a machine with IE and let me know if that makes a difference. Vbulletin apparently doesn't support some versions of Netscape. When did these problems start ?

I have all sorts of problems on TERB when I use MSIE 6.0.
I usually can't even get access or it just hangs.
I open up a Netscape browser and it instantly always works fine.
Could be related to your browser security settings - make sure these are set on "Medium" not "High".

Fred:

I started having the PM problem around Sept 4. I have previously had no problems with the same version of Netscape 4.something. I don't have a computer avail with IE, and I suppose I could download it here but that's a real PITA.

Can you confirm somehow that something has changed and that my old Netscape used to work but will no longer work anymore?

PM used to work with Netscape 4.79

In response to coolhand's posting;

I've been using Netscape 4.79 for quite some time and have had no problems using PM on this board. I can't pinpoint a time when this stopped working as I don't PM people frequently.

I suspect something has changed with the board's configuration or scripts recently that has been causing these PM problems. Can any of the admins confirm or deny this?

Yes, this is a higher end version of Vbulletin -- we were on 2.0.0 and upgraded to the current version 2.2.6 early Sept. I would suggest you download IE if that's not too much trouble.
