If you are going to join this hobby... get tested. Period. This is the price to enter the hobby. It's actually a lot cheaper than the entry fee for a lot of hobbies (looking at you WH40k).

Long story short; I've been hearing from providers that the STI rate in the city of Ottawa is going up. It's us and Vancouver apparently, for most STI cases in the country.

Guys, seriously. Protect yourselves.

I would think the hierarchy of risk, from most to least:
Bbfs
Pussy slide (vag juices can get into urethra just like bbfs)

Driving to the incall lol

I draw my line between bbbj and deep throat bbbj. Plus I find almost all dt's I got actually hurt. Anyhow, i tell the lady no dt please. Also, if I'm active I get tested every 3-4 months. Urine and blood.

Right, good point It’s only the women who will suffer so that’s no big whoop guys. I would definitely be pissed too if I was a man and got an STI from giving pleasure, but if you get one from receiving pleasure, that’s still a win for you. Ultimately, always think only about yourself and never anyone else when it comes to STI’s.

Can confirm, I have caught either m gen or a very similar nasty bug from bbbj.

took multiple doctor visits and finally 2 antibiotics to cure. It was one of the hardest things I went through medically as untreated it caused various systematic immune effects

Please stop offering each other medical advice and just do yourself and others a favour by getting tested regularly.

There's also a huge number of legitimate medical sites to research. It's easy to do that and determine your own acceptable risk level.

How does it compare to lab blood and urine tests? Maybe I'm just old I've never done at-home testing.

It's not at home testing. I mean they do offer at home hiv kit, but getakit.ca is run by the sexual health clinic, so you answer a questionnaire and they have a doctor who will send you a requisition ( and needed swabs if you're ordering those) either through the website or through mail and you can take it to whatever lab you wish to go. Results are usually available within a week (urine next day, swabs usually 3days and blood within 5days)

Yes, but also for people who don't want to go bother their family doc every month, or aren't comfortable having a direct talk about testing, or if you're worried about being judged or your doc making comments about your sex life.
I find it easier, plus you get results free, most labs have a paid app in order to see your results
