When i am downloading movies through Imesh, I sometimes can not play them. I get an error message and then it says do you want to play it with an external player. Which it will not play on anything. Then i get a message that says something about licensing and media player 7v or something like that. I have the latest media player 10 and quicktime and real player as well as i have tried to update the codecs. If anyone can let me know what to do i would appreciate it. I have some great vids i wish to view but cant.

Hmmmm, I've lost track, is Imesh for pirating or purchasing material with legal liscence. If it's the former, the guy probably has the protected original on his hard drive and you can't get the license with the download, which is probably located in the host computers registry. IOW, you are SOL.

If it's the latter, you may have intermittent connection losses or interferences in the internet connection that corrupt the license. You should have a receipt and should be able to correct the problem with the company.

This is only a theory, but I believe that someone is tring to install spyware on the machine. I downloaded some videos from KAZZA LITE. They will not play on any of the players on my puter. I get asked to update my licences by downloading a program from them. I have never allowed it to happen yet, but as I said it is only a theory.

I do run Spybot at least once a week. It usually finds 5 to 10 spies. The very first time I ran it there were 750! If you want a copy of it, it is free to download at thier site. They do ask for a donation but it up to you if you want to or not.

I agree with rembrandt100. I used to download a lot of videos from steakandcheese.com, but I stopped going there after a lot of the good ones had that request for licensing.

You probably won't have any problem with watching them on the site, if that's an option made available. If you want to save a copy, try looking in C:/Documents and Settings/ <your username>/ Local Settings/ Temporary Internet Files. If there's a copy in there, try cutting or copying it and pasting it to a different location, and opening it there. You can't directly open files in the Temporary Internet files, and you have to have hidden files and folders enabled in My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options... ->View Tab. Many streaming quicktime videos get stored in Temp Internet Files. Some streaming .wmv files will be there also. In some cases, you may have to change the file extension from .asx to .wmv on the streaming .wmv's.
