With yesterdays nice weather it got me thinking about the up coming golf season, and other things. I decided to try a new course based on the review by centreofmass so I made arrangements to play course Victoria today. All arrangements were made and tee time booked over the pm and email. I had taken a preview of the course from her website.
The first hole was breath taking and a lot nicer than even the pictures on the website portray. On to hole number two the tee blocks were nice and hole number two was well worth the play to get comfortable for the rest of the round. The fairways proved to be tight with just the curves and undulations. the green was well manicured and the water hazzards (which usually you don't want to be in were well worth the earand shot). The play of this course was a good pace you never felt rushed and you were well taking care of from the club house to the 19th hole. The greens fee was very reasonable. The over all rating of this course would be 9/10 IMHO. Will certainly be repeating at this course.

Ok time to dust off the clubs and start playing some of the picturesque courses in this part of the country. Thanks for reminding me smtmtd, great critique of a course that I understand has been revamped and open to the public again. Green fees are quite reasonable for a course of this sophistication. How were you hitting them? Did you bring out the big club and follow through properly to get maximum distance and how did the course respond to your shots? Did you keep your balls in play on your shots? Were the holes forgiving, were you succesful on your puts to the hole?

Thanks for playing the game so early in the season, but as long as the course is open , it's worth a shot. :D

So very confusing

At first i thought it was a review of the golf course in Guelph (http://www.victoriaparkgolf.com/) but then i had the pleasure of revisiting this fine lady. I agree 110% with Cutterbuck - you don't have to pay premium rates to get a premium experience. Wonderful woman making excellent use of the mirrors in her room to display her many assets. With so many high quality courses in the area - and the real golf season lingering just around the corner - i might not get to revisit her soon enough, but i'll definitely be back.

No, but I;m sure if you are good and nice you might get the odd 3 putt.

Well Anselmo

The course as I mentioned was in fine shape. I was landing the balls in regulation and the greens were very responsive. The big stick was well used and was able to stay on the fairways except for landing in a couple of delightful water hazzards. I love this game.
