In a van down by the river
Looking out the window I see snow, snow and more snow. It's Friday and the week is almost over.
A few years back I went to Arizona. At 0500 am I hiked up Squaw Peak, which is probably the second well known mountain after Camelback. I made it just in time for the sunrise.
what a great place. What a great memory.
I am sure that some of you had similar experiences. Care to share them?

another sunrise story

Many years ago I was spending some time in Australia's outback, at a place called Ross River, and decided one very early morning to take a hike to the top of one of the mountains in the Macdonnell Range. I was there in time to watch the sun rise over the Australian desert. There didn't seem to be a trace of humanity from horizon to horizon, just dirt and rock and bushes and the occasional kangaroo.

What was most striking were the colours that intensified and faded as the sun climbed higher in the sky.

Amazing stuff. I was transfixed. It's one of those memories that I can count on to bring me peace when the rest of my world is in chaos.

Why do you want to wear Kathleen's pants Goober? You're weird. Better be careful though; while you're playing dress-up with her, I'll bet you she makes you put on her Leafs jersey too!

I'd rather be slapping Cute In A Kilt on the ass.

I'd rather be between the legs of a beautiful sexy woman.

Rather be...

Many years ago, woke up 4am, riding Mongolian horse (about 1/3 size of our horse) up narrow path of sleeping volcano Mount Bormo in Indonesia. It was pitch black so didn't know it at the time of the height no railings should the horse lose footing.

We were above the clouds at the peak. Two girls in the group decided to change as their clothes were soaked from being scare of heights and 1st time on a horse. The girls held up a make-shift tent with the blankets from the inn. It was funny the girls were changing with one of the prettiest sunrise and cloud/fog effect as back-drop. The sunrise above the clouds was beyond words.

On the way back, got to do the cowboy thing racing the locals. It wasn't a fair race as my feet were dragging on the ground as the horses were short and small.

Snow isn't so bad as long as you are having fun with it.
A few hours skiing down a Colorado peak on a warm fall morning. Not the ideal powder but decent enough to satisfy Goodtime's crave.

Ah, yes, the memories of Florence and Rome...

Goodtime, a tourist for life.
