As a PF fan, I was pretty excited to see this, and I thought for sure Roger Waters would be a part of it. But alas, it's just Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason with supporting musicians.

Sort of like hearing the "The Beatles" are doing once last concert, then showing up at the arena to see Ringo and three other guys you've never heard of taking the stage.

But, I will have to wait until I read the lyrics…to make up my mind.
Like in everything else, the truth is not black and white…

Yeah. It really isn't Pink Floyd.
The essence of Pink Floyd was holding on by a thread when Waters left. It started to come back a bit during the Division Bell, when Rick Wright started actively contributing again to the song writing. But when he died, that was the last shot that this band could take.
Pink Floyd with only Gilmour and Mason is not Pink Floyd. It is a Gilmour Solo effort and should have been marketed that way.

Gilmour said that Pink Floyd was no longer feesable without Rick, just after Wright died. And he was correct. To go back on that now cheapens the sentiment.

I am sure that Dave and Nick agreed to use the Pink Floyd name to promote this song in order to bring attention to the situation in Ukraine.
By no means is this up to snuff as far as actual Pink Floyd music goes. They know that the glory days are long long gone.

Agreed. They were not using the name Pink Floyd as cheap stunt to profit on new music because they felt like making another album…. It was a charity song. Is what it is.

As a huge Pink Floyd fan I was elated to hear the news about this yesterday. But just as quickly I thought to myself, "wait, is it all 3 of them? Roger too? Better check tis out"

Sure enough, no Roger.

Instant let down, but thought I'd check it out........

So I start watching the video, there's Gilmour sans black Strat. There's Mason looking bored as usual. And there's some guy singing in Ukrainian. Ok, I get it, it's a song for Ukraine.

But I'm thinking that Gilmour is going to jump in after the first verse......

Fuck, I don't think he's going to jump in....

Sigh.

I wonder if David even asked Roger to participate or does his hatred run that deep? Rhetorical question.

The USA/Euro Union are sending arms to the Ukrainians to fight so that Putin will use up his arsenal. Most certainly he will re-arm but military spending does little to further the Russian People or their economy.
