Pick Up Soccer

I have some extra time available on friday evenings.

There are few places to play some soccer, not far away but centrally located.

Post here if you have some interest in playing a friendly pick-up soccer on Friday evenings. Time would be around 7pm

Ladies are welcome to join in on the fun.

Should we wear a disguise or everyone will know who we are and that we are evil cheaters that are playing there?

No one has to know your handle, age, marital status, who you are or what you do for a living.

We are not posting a banner on the field. For all I know, you are a friend of a friend who heard about a soccer game.

I play regularly on Wednesdays and Sundays and no one at these events knows what I do for a living, just my first name or the name in the back of my soccer jersey.

There is no commitment. Few non-hobby friends are organizing pick up games for Wednesday and Fridays at St Clair and Spadina area. If that is too far, you can give suggestions.

There are usually a bunch of guys playing at Moss Park Field almost any night.

There are two games that I know of on Wednesday. One, by Shaw just north of Queen (full field) but too often games are played 13 or 14 a side. Unless you are extremely skilled or know everyone - not too many touches.

There is a smaller set-up. 4 to 6 people a side match in park located at St Clair and Spadina Road. Both games start after 6:30pm. You will get a faster tempo and more touches at this game.

It's a very good idea.

But going into the city to play football is an almost impossibility. If a game is set up in North York or Vaughan I'll make an effort to attend.

I tried out the St Clair and Spadina match on Wednesday and it was good.

Tempo was quick, lots of one two touch passes. Got a better workout than full field soccer.

They are playing on Friday again and was told more people will come.

I arrived at 7pm last time and people were just arriving. I assume today will be the same.
