Can anyone recommend a tough personal injury lawyer for me?

I was injured in a car accident earlier this year, an ass hat rear ended me on a busy intersection. I'm lucky that I was driving my Forrester and not my Civic, I got hit by a Dodge Caravan, had it been the later I would assuredly been paralyzed. My most serious injury is a concussion that's taking it's sweet time in healing. Since then a paralegal affiliated with the rehab center I'm recovering at has been handling my case but the insurance companies are being skin flints and I'm getting pissed off.

So far a poodle has been representing me, I need a Rottweiller.

That's not entirely true. The Law Society will just recommend names - they will NOT recommend "Rottweiller". He is asking for a particular character of lawyer.

Having said that, the OP's use of the term Shylock could turn-off a lot of lawyers of the Jewish-faith should he bandy that term about. And as a Jew I think I would know.

Yes the term Shylock was inappropriate so I changed it to skin flints. I bear no animosity towards Jewish people, I've had a good rapport with them both personally and professionally over the years. On a trip to Bavaria I did visit Dachau, talk about brutal reality smacking you across the face!

Bad choice of words on my part.

Just to underscore my point has anyone seen The Garden of the Finzi-Continis?

From Vittorio De Sica (The Bicycle Thief)

No issue. I am not too sensitive to it, but am glad you edited it. But seriously, you could have trouble finding a good lawyer if you do use that word.

Their managing partner Nital Gosai is a former international pageant winner but don't mistake that for a minute. She's your rotweiller & will do a great job if she has time to take on your case. Good luck!

PIA is your best bet. Look up those law firms. Google top 5 personal injury law firms Ontario. then do a Google search of lexperts personal injury lawyers.. you will find the best of the best that way..

Just an FYI - some research shows that about 50 percent of people who suffer from whiplash injuries will develop chronic neck pain within 15 years.

Granted.

Shakespeare got it wrong, it was Jewish money that allowed the Venetians to build a Naval War Machine capable of defeating the Ottoman Turks.

As for my choice I'm going with Diamond/Diamond. I've already dealt with them on an accident investigation and I know they're pricks.

Thanks you for the suggestions folks.

Many insurance companies will know who the tough AND smart ones are, and cut their loses by making a better offer after they're notified of your change of representative. Odds are, any settlement you could reasonably expect, is "peanuts" to the Insurer. They are doing their job with trying to minimize payment, but might well crumble when they know you're serious.

Bad choice of words on my part.

When Archie Bunker visited the law firm of Rabinowitz and Rabinowitz, the secretary asked him who do you want to see? And he said, "Give me the guy who's been a Jew the longest".

(Hey I visited Dachau back in high school on a trip to Europe - we were all gung ho but after we left, everybody didn't say a word. The day was cloudy and my memory of that visit is in black and white, like the movie Schindler's List. Now I know why our bus driver Klaus didn't want to take us there but we insisted. I'm still glad I went.)

Open the yellow pages, visit a few, set up a consultation and get quotes. There are a few like Diamond and Diamond, Pace Law Firm, Singer, etc. etc. but unless there's a substantial LOE on your part, legal representation could be costly.

Lots of ambulance chasing personal injury lawyers are now advertising. Just b/c they have a big ad in the phone book doesn't mean they are good...but at least it's a starting point.
