Sync.com is apparently based in Ontario, and it can be a good alternative to Google One, Apple iCloud, or Microsoft OneDrive.

pCloud from Switzerland also sounds like a good choice.

Your phone manufacture/network provider might come with their own offering, too.

sync.com is Canadian, based in Toronto. Never used them but heard it was a great solution.

Never felt safe with any cloud storage sites. They all face the potential of being hacked.
Always stored important stuff on external SSDs or Flash drives so that stuff never gets on the www. Both are cheap better alternatives.

That's true, but it's still nice to have a cloud storage as a backup of your SSDs. If you encrypt your files yourself before uploading them, no one else can read your data in case of a breach.
