I ran into this female that I used to go to high school with and she was looking fine and just so beautiful. She wanted to become a model. I never hooked up with her and I just ran into her the other day and had coffee with her. She is only in her late 20's and boy did life take a toll on her. I do feel sorry for her but sometimes I wonder why people make such shitty decisions that are so wrong. We may know its wrong but I'm guessing she didn't think at the time. Thats where good friends and family should come in and help out.

She got into drugs, some hard stuff and hooked up with the loser dealing drugs thats over 10 years older and a little midget thats like 5'1". She got involved with some assaults. She got pregnant by that loser and he went to jail for dealing. He got out and went back to jail. He beat her and never calls to see how the child or her are doing. One day he called and she had sex with him to prove to him that hes used to have it good. Yeah ok. She's into weed and the puzzling part of it is, she tells me that shes not with the dealer but will always love him and will be the only one she loves. She would've had a good life if she didn't meet him. Shes in the business now to support for her and her child.

yes , she told me all of this. We were very good friends in high school but lost contact after we graduated and took different paths.

^^^ Good decision, although I am still immature enough to be impressed that your big head was smart enough to subdue the supposed overwhelming urging of your little head to take advantage, lol.

drugs, assault and being associated with her loser dealer.
and let me guess...

you're feeling sad, remorseful for the choices she taken, the path she took in her life and where she is now....as if somehow you're responsible....as if somehow, you could've saved her, cause she's so beautiful and so worth saving....right? as if somehow, you could've prevented her from going down that path, prevented her from coming to such a tragic place in life.

for some reason, i don't know how drug dealers or as some might call them, 'bad boys' manage to score all the good looking women.....and corrupt them....how they do that. i will never know....

the simple explanation is this. good looking girls are used to guys fawning all over them to give them what they want when they want it. assholes show up and show little interest and treat them like shit so they feel compelled to win them over since it is the only guy that is not treating them like the princess they have become accustomed to being treated like. this is a generalization and is not meant to encompass every single hot girl but it is the trend that has not ever seemed to end.

after getting hurt a few dozen times they look at the best friend or "friendzone" and realize that he has been there loving her and wanting to be with her and would die before hurting her and that he is everything they ever wanted and then somehow they get together and he gets the girl of his dreams and she gets back to being treated like she is used to. this ending rarely happens, i just tossed it in there cuz fairy tales do come true sometime.

Sounds somewhat like a girl I used to know. She was dating some dick that beat her up pretty bad on a few occasions. She wouldn't go into details about most of them, but eventually she caught him fucking another girl. They argued and he ended up choking her until she almost passed out. She stopped seeing him for a couple weeks and he got locked up on drug charges. Five years I think. I thought that was it, but she was pregnant with his kid. Unfortunately(?), she lost the child when she was 4 months pregnant due to overexertion. After that, I figured she could cut all ties to this douchebag and she'd be all the better for it.

Three years later, he gets out and she goes straight to him and they resume their troubled relationship. The last time I talked to her, she said that she loved him with all her heart, he's the only one she ever loved (yada yada yada) and that he loved her back and they were going to start a family. I cut all ties with her after that. The thought of their dysfunctional relationship progressing to parenthood is too unsettling.

This was a smart girl, in most senses of the word. But she couldn't escape this guy for whatever reason. From what I could tell, she's in misery with him. She dropped out of school to work and pay his debt. It's ludicrous.

9 to 5 guys can't party all the time (boring), and the guys who earn big money legitimately don't take risks that would cause them to lose their big paychecks, so they don't party all the time either (also boring). In general, of course.

It is unfortunate when women get caught up in that kind of life. Personally its never happened to me,however I've fought many battles and struggled though tough times in my life, like the OP's title it always came down to life choices. I have met women who have been with men like that and could never understand why they stayed. I always believed it went much deeper than that relationship. Self esteem can be broken down so easily and without the right support system in place, family loving friends, a person can get lost to abuse and not know any different.
