Pentagon wages war on "White Privilege"

The Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) has a training manual on how to spot the "White Male Club"
The subject of white privilege emerged in a 20-page section titled, “Power and Privilege.”

This manual has gotten a LOT of flack from hereditary and patriotic organizations (including the Society of the Cincinnati, Sons of the Revolution, DAR, SAR etc. . .) for among other things its statement in an official USAF training manual that those on the Patriot side of the Revolution were "extremists."

Likewise, it must also go over very well among various Army Reserve National Guard units entitled to Confederate Battle Streamers on their Colors - that this manual lists Confederate hereditary organizations as ipso facto racist. (They accepted statements by the Southern Poverty Law Center without any critical thought).

Before you get your knickers in a knot, remember what this is: A manual so that the Pentagon can show it has taken steps to address racism. i.e., throw a few bucks and FTE's at the racism issue and the next time some Black Panther wannabe says you're racist you can point to this department and say, "How so? We have this fancy schmancy anti-racism unit!"

I wouldn't worry about this. The people in power likely view it as a big joke.

The only book quoted in the section of text beginning on page 12 was written in 1976 almost 40 years ago!

The existence of this manual hit the press this past August.
