He was supposed to sign with us (pending a physical)
then he was supposed to sign with NYR (pending a physical)
Now he is reported to sign with Columbus,
I think it's his leg, it's sad.

He came to the Leafs for the glory of it all,
and I think his leg is done, maybe not,
but why would the contenders not want to sign one of the best PK guys in the league?

Because he's unreliable and overrated. Columbus is a good place for him, Buh-By

Peca was pretty reliable for the Oilers during the 2006 playoffs.

The last two teams he played for were glad to see him go, I never heard the dollar amount but I'll bet it wasn't much.

Columbus is just a place to lace his skates until the trading deadline. Why take a risk on his health now, when you can trade for him in February or March when you have a better idea of his health.

Smart risk for Columbus, they know he's worth something- draft picks, another young prospect, etc.. they know they aren't headed for post-season yet, too. if he's healthy, he'll be traded before the deadline.

also because he'll play on the 2nd line in Columbus and score maybe 15-20 goals there vs 8 or so on some other teams 3rd or 4th line. thus making him more $$ again next year assuming he doesnt get hurt again but good luck with that. Buh bye is right.

I honestly think JFJr is making the push to improve this team into the post season.

Don't worry, the Leafs will trade a few draft picks and a good young prospect to get him back before their play-off run.
