I will be heading to Panama City for the first time and wondered if anyone here has been there and could enlighten me. My absolute fav fun place on this planet is Cuba and if Panama isn't up to par, I will take a few extra days and head over there (But the stamp on my passport showing a stopover in Cuba won't go over very well- if I tear out this page, will my passport still be legal?!).

Any info and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated such as:
1) rules and restrictions of Panama, if any.
2) costs
3) hotels? or do I need to find a casa particular?

Many thanks!

Skibum- I have been to Cuba 8 times and have yet to get a stamp in my passport. Even if you did get one it would make no differance unless it was a US passport which would be a problem.
However if it is a US paasport all is not lost the way around that is to learn spanish for "No stamp please" and slip the agent $20.00 as they are handing you back your passport.
Hope this helps

Oh, and don't rip a page from your passport. It's useless if you do that. Well not useless - it will still make a nice drink coaster.

Thanks for the info, DSBToronto. I have a Canadian passport and what I meant by the stamp on my passport, is that I may have some explaining to do on the homefront (Eg...why was I in Cuba when I was supposed to be on business in Panama!!). But the moola in the palm idea is something to contemplate. Thanks.

I guess I have to do my own homework about Panama. It seems that no terbites have been, so I'll report back after the trip!

how to find a SP in Cuba?
I went to Varadero in the past summer, but I don't think I had any chances to find a SP somewhere.
any ideas?
