Okay, so my son did something stupid and got this virus/trojan in North Bay. He has Windows 7. I tried to help him from stuff I found on line and it didn't work. This is what we tried to do:
1. Print the instructions which are to follow, seeing as you will need to close all browsers in order to complete removal
2. Palladium Pro will most likely prevent you from downloading files to the system. Should this be the case, simply download required files on a different system, and transfer it to the infected PC
3. You will not be able to access your Desktop. After the system boots up, you will arrive at the Palladium Pro Start Screen. DO NOT click on any button, rather press CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard at once. This should bring up the Windows Task Manager
4. In Task Manager, click on Processes, found next to the Applications Tab
5. Find Palladium.exe, and select it
6. Click on the END PROCESS command, and you will need to confirm that you want to end this process. Select Yes and kill Palladium.exe
7. That’s all there is to it! You have now successfully killed Palladium Pro. You should now see a blank screen. Now select the File Menu in Task Manager, and select Run New Task. Type iexplorer.exe and you should now be able to successfully establish a connection to the Internet
If anyone can help it would be greatly apprecaited. He cannot open in safe mode and do a system restore.
Thanking everyone in advance!
