Guess Sarah Palin's new career is public speaking and her first engagement is as keynote speaker for a Hong Kong brokerage firm's investor conference in South Korea.
She'll problably make more money from this speech than she would make in an entire year being governor of Alaska, ($125,000)

Bill Clinton earned 5.7 million from speaking engagements last year and almost all of it is from foreign sources.

Kinda reminds me of how he financed his campaigns.

Yes, but you need "former governor" on your resume to make that kind of money for a speaking engagement. Is she writing a book as well?

I've heard she would get a couple of million for a book and being governor was stealing too much of her time. Ditching the job means she can get to work on her book.
The 19 year old who dated Palin's daughter, Levi Johnston, was dead on when he said a month or so ago, that Palin quit Governor position for money reasons. She wants the money now. Not 2 or 3 or 4 years from now.

No one's going to remember her 3 years from now when President Obama runs for a second term with Caroline Kennedy as his Vice-President running mate.

How can you not love a woman wh strikes so much fear in the black hole that once housed the hearts of liberals.

The new John Kenneth Galbraith.

She can go on speaking engagements all she wants...what is she going to talk about?

Sarah P is not too dumb. or at least some of her advisers aren't, as she's aware that she'd better make it while people still remember who she is. Sarah who?

Someone on this BB once corrected me saying Ms Sarah will always be referred to as Governor, even after leaving office as a matter of convention. I've kept that in mind while watching and reading things and it doesn't happen often, except perhaps by her one time team mates.

When she was "taken out before the first turn" in the "contest" to be appointed to succeed Secretary of State Clinton as one of New York's U.S. Senators. I rather doubt it.

As matters stand now (way too early to actually tell) if the GOP runs a viable candidate BHO may well be a one term president.

I'm sure you long ago learned that the men and women of the fifth Estate - certainly over the past two decades - are not the worlds most knowledgeable people. Routinely one catches them in spectacular errors of knowledge, style, grammar etc. . .

In fairness this is likely because few news outlets anymore have true specialists any particular area.

Broad strokes again. I'm not talking about little Miss Newbie from Five Corners Idaho here. I'm talking main stream people who've got more polish and political savvy than you will ever have.

I don't know about you but I've caught network anchors before, now that may be their writers, but again the anchor didn’t catch it before they said it. Likewise Reuters, AP, CNS, etc. . . . I will say that the CBC generally seems to be better than the U.S. networks.

Although I fully agree that they are not going to hire me as a televison news anchor - before throwing bombs about political savvy perhaps you should get a DVD of the movie Broadcast News, yes it's fiction, however, it contains a great deal of truth about the television news business.

Some gossip magazines are published stories that she is getting a divorce.
I guess Todd is giving up the chance of becoming "First Hubby".
