In none of those pictures were either of the youths armed, nor did they present a clear and present danger, so the shootings do not meet the test of self defence, sorry. This is apparent by the fact that commanders had ordered no live ammo, or so they claim.
The video doesn't show the Israeli perspective, but take a look at the stone throwers in the video, and where they are hurling their stones around that corner at a target we cannot see, then continue that angle behind the stone throwers to the Pali side and you can see he is likely getting shot just as he comes into view of the Israelis directly behind the stone throwers.
The soldier who fired probably sees a guy jumping out from around a corner, throwing a stone, then darting back behind the corner. He then shoots when the guy reappears around the corner a few moments later. Except it was a different guy the second time.
This is called getting hit by the crossfire.
Weren't you the one saying people should be blamed for being in dangerous places? You thought just hitch hiking was bad, but milling around in the middle of an armed battle between security forces and insurgents hurling rocks is perfectly safe???
