It has been a long time since visiting the Pacific Mall. I used to buy 20 or 30 English Movie DVD's for $2.00 each. There was lots to choose from and lots of stores sold them including latest releases. I visited today and things seem to have changed. Fewer stores selling them, little variety, and about $6.00 each.

Anyone know what happened, or if there is an alternative to the Pacific Mall?

I would imagine it was due to all the attention they were getting from LE raids

Northeast corner of Sheppard and Brimley. Chinese mall. As soon as you get of the elevator on the first floor there are plenty of vendors selling dvds. As long as you don't mind people getting up in the middle of the movie and blocking the view you're good to go.

Went over to the Dr Flea fleamarket at Albion and 27. There are several booths selling DVD's, most for $3-$4, but booth 1918 sells them for $1. Purchased 24. Went late Sunday and many of the top sellers were sold out out. I think a good time to go would be early Saturday. It opens at 10 AM.

Thanks for the info Larry

Don't understand why people don't just download it yourselves. It's simple and not time consuming.

Another thing I wanted to add. A co-worker buys these bootleg movies and out of curiousity, I wanted to see the quality of these things. They're awful, I could do better than this.

They were caught for intellectual property theft and were severely fined. This is a concept Asian people don't have a clue about nor do they see it the same way as Westerners. Copying isn't regarded as even unethical.

LOL. I've talked with many Canadians who don't see intellectual property theft as unethical, either.

Wow here is another thread that will have racist overtones - again.

I am a "Westener" and I download everything from TV to movies.

Some people even ended up in jail for repeated DVD-related stuff (via breach of recognizance charges). Word got around. I personally find it ridiculous that RCMP was dealing with it. Like they fucking have nothing else to do than serve Sony Corporation.

i'm not sure where you can find such a place. anyways, you can grab rips of Blu-ray discs from torrent sites. usually, the files are between 7 to 20GB in size. i suspect most, however, don't include the HD audio streams and only include Dolby 5.1 or DTS

Actually, these stores are usually funding organized crime groups.

Haha that's interesting. Isnt there a thing called supply/demand. So you're saying only Asians make these bootlegs and only Asians buying them?
What about the people who download in their homes, or others who sell As well but just not in stores. All Asians as well i guess . Those damn Asians huh! It's gotta be them right cuz noone else is smart enough to start this type of biz haha
