“When COVID emerged, governments postponed hundreds of thousands of non-COVID surgeries, procedures and consultations with specialists,” said SecondStreet.org President Colin Craig. “Not only has that increased waiting lists, it has caused tremendous patient suffering, sometimes even resulting in death.”

There are likely numerous seeds of disaster being planted by these lockdowns.
You can't replace the fitness and cardio from shutdown rinks, gyms, pools, etc.
Delayed procedures and diagnosis, depression, unemployment, suicide, and domestic violence are also taking a staggering toll.
Plus the reality of financial and economic devastation will be felt for generations (essentially forever) and is impossible to quantify.

I had a surgery postpone. No date on when that will happen. Thankfully it is elective.

A family member squeezed in a surgery the day before the second Toronto locked down happen. They were considered an “emergency” and was scheduled and done within a week of seeing the doctor. Actually, they were referred from Durham to Toronto to get it done faster.
