Ovechkin 1000 goals

I thought he was washed up but sure enough he's got 10 goals and might get 40. The 1000 goal mark would be difficult not to go after if he's at 940 or so this year.

He never gets injured and his sheer bulk gives him longevity, he never breaks down.

Russian machine doesn't break...I mean, he's 40 right now. His shot is still deadly. If he can remain healthy and motivated to continue playing, I can't see any reason why he couldn't. I mean, Jager played in the NHL at the age of 45, and Chris Chelios retired at 48...When you think of it like that....I suppose 1,000 goals isn't that far fetched as it used to be. I honestly remember thinking that nobody would touch Gretzky's goal record in my lifetime, yet here we are...

Bossy was the best scorer ever, he only lasted 10 years though. Goalie equipment was half the size back then but players used 2x4s back then as sticks.
